We have been on Twitter and Flickr before, since this year joined Facebook and Google plus as well. Now we have joined the many Pinterest users. But what is really Pinterest and what is it used for?

Business cards are like any other business promotional and images-building tools, yet are different to a certain extent. Unlike brochure, flyer and post card, business card is not meant to advertise.

And the winner is…

We’d like to thank once again all participants of our “makeover” contest. With considering the votes of our blog visitors the jury came to the following decision:

1st place: Chris Connolly, Ireland

Entry without attached comment.
According to our specifications this is a design with modern lettering, with the jury liked most because of its dynamic impact.

2nd place: Roberto Ottaviano, Italy

Again an entry without attached comment.
Even if we didn’t ask for a makeover of the logo itself, it was the idea and overall impression which could convince the jury.

3rd place: Mario Bukowski, Marios Designzimmer, Deutschland

Comment attached: “I didn’t want to change the main features of the logo (value of brand recognition), therefore I only chose a different, more modern font (Audimat), which lets the lettering appear mor zeitgeisty than the Minion. Apart from that I renounced the stylized “coffee cup vapor billow”, as this is inappropriate to represent a printing company. Given this the outcome was a new logo, which however didn’t allow to be captured.” (editor’s note: well, actually this isn’t meant to be a “coffee billow”, but the heat which rises from a business card which is coming out of the printing-press )

Also in this case the jury awarded the overall idea business cards.

One of those of today, because of being particularly nice, deserves citation: Dear team, I just saw on your website that you charge 300 euros for 500 semi-transparent business cards… From a Rhenish media agency however I got a quote which beats your service theoretically! Nevertheless I’d like to give you the chance to acquire me as customer. This would be my proposal: If you reduce the price for me to 200 euros, I’ll order the 500 business cards at yours. Thank you in advance for your feedback. Best regards. 300 euros??? We wondered where on earth this customer could have read such a horrendous price. Surely not on our website. Therefore we sent him the following reply: Dear XY, Thank you for your request. We just can’t imagine where you might have read a price of 300 euros for 500 semi-transparent business cards. For 500 semi-transparent business cards we charge 120 euros plus 20 euros shipping.
